6:30am Sunday morning, blue lanterns at the finish line of the SF marathon (just south of the Ferry Building, Bay Bridge in the background). The last wave of the (1st) half marathon took off in the opposite direction shortly after this photo.
high-wire
Oh, the shoes.
boys of summer
Belmont Park, Pacific Beach, CA. The first strains of this song make my knees weak. Also, I love the lo-fi-ness of the 'official' video on You Tube.
happy couple
Shiny and exuberant in their parallel-park-ed-ness.
backup
North Beach.
wardrobe malfunction
A lone shoe has surfaced in North Beach. Accidentally discarded perhaps by a four- or five-year old on a doughnut bender.
my valentine
Hangs in the alley outside of the fidi McDonalds. A little shallow, but no one's perfect.
happy new year
Happy 2011 -- we wish you health, happiness and adventures in the new year! And thank you all for stopping by the blog to check out what's going on! I'll do my best to keep it stocked with interesting pix this year.
Jan 1 here in the city is wet, gray, cold, and a little dark. Earlier we took a stroll around the neighborhood and found at midday the bars were full, though the shops were practically empty -- a weird and not unwelcome change. We passed more than a few groups on the street dressed to the nines, on their way to a continuation of last night's festivities. Today seems suited more to a big sweater than a little cocktail dress, but I suppose that is what cocktails are for (to stave off the cold). And sequins and sparkles go a surprisingly long way towards keeping you warm.
