In the Tendernob: pinstriped suit, french cuffs, ubiquitous umbrella. I'm still working out taking photos of people I don't know/in public/in passing. I stalked/followed this gentleman for a few blocks trying to get a good shot. I'm sure I was very... not-subtle.

Hangs in the alley outside of the fidi McDonalds. A little shallow, but no one's perfect.
eve of the night of the living wabbit
Walked home through Chinatown this evening, and though it was quiet, there were signs everywhere of the weekend's impending New Year's festivities. Year of the Rabbit! From the top:
- the view down Grant St.
- this building caught my eye, especially all lit up; not sure what it is or is used for. I'd like to hang out on that balcony.
- barricades in wait for the parade and festival
- where can i get some sparklers?!!
- the source of the noise
- debris: evidence of some serious firecracker celebration covering the street and sidewalk

Across the water, literally.
View of abandoned construction site, from Bullhead City, Arizona, across the Colorado River. In late December the fabled mild winter was less than mild, and wind prevented us from taking advantage of riverside deck chairs. Contemplation was forced behind a plate glass window.

happy new year
Happy 2011 -- we wish you health, happiness and adventures in the new year! And thank you all for stopping by the blog to check out what's going on! I'll do my best to keep it stocked with interesting pix this year.
Jan 1 here in the city is wet, gray, cold, and a little dark. Earlier we took a stroll around the neighborhood and found at midday the bars were full, though the shops were practically empty -- a weird and not unwelcome change. We passed more than a few groups on the street dressed to the nines, on their way to a continuation of last night's festivities. Today seems suited more to a big sweater than a little cocktail dress, but I suppose that is what cocktails are for (to stave off the cold). And sequins and sparkles go a surprisingly long way towards keeping you warm.
